The English syllabus for the L1 students will focus on
developing the communicative skills that will enable them, on a long term, to
understand texts of specialty in their major, write in a correct English about
their specialty and eventually present their scientific works orally.
For that aim, we will review some grammatical notions
that will help students comprehend and use a correct English to serve their
academic needs. Scientific and technical vocabulary and structures will be
studied through a selection of specialty texts in the domain of Health and
Industrial Safety.
The texts will be selected according to the vocabulary
built up, and will be studied in a way to ensure the familiarization with both
scientific and technical matters in English for further understanding.
Therefore, each text will be defined by a set of vocabulary concepts, a set of
special sentences (idioms) and comprehension questions.

The course MECHANICS OF PARTICLES is destined to students of L1 . In order to familiarize students with the use of several basic mathematical tools, such as vectors, a reminder of vectors operation is presented firstly. The main document is divided into three parts, the first of which presents the kinematics of particle including the determination of position vector , velocity and acceleration in different coordinates systems . The different movements are also presented here . The second part then focuses on the dynamics , different forces used in mechanics are detailed . This part also contains the momentum and differential equations of motion, while the third part is about work and energy where different theorems of energies are presented.
