The module of Material Sciences (SM) consists of six chapters for the first semester of the first year in hygiene and safety. These chapters cover the introduction to matter and its physical properties, the constitution of the atom, radioactivity, atomic structure, the periodic table, and chemical bonds.

The course MECHANICS ELEMENT is destined  to students of L1 . In order to familiarize students with the use of several basic mathematical tools, such as vectors, a reminder of vectors operations is presented firstly. The main document is divided into three parts, the first of which presents the kinematics of  particle including the determination of position vector , velocity and acceleration in  different coordinates systems . The different movements are also presented here . The second part then focuses on the dynamics , different forces used in mechanics are detailed . This part also contains the momentum and differential equations of motion, while the third part is about work and energy where different theorems of energies are presented.

The English syllabus for the L1 students will focus on developing the communicative skills that will enable them, on a long term, to understand texts of specialty in their major, write in a correct English about their specialty and eventually present their scientific works orally.
For that aim, we will review some grammatical notions that will help students comprehend and use a correct English to serve their academic needs. Scientific and technical vocabulary and structures will be studied through a selection of specialty texts in the domain of Health and Industrial Safety.
The texts will be selected according to the vocabulary built up, and will be studied in a way to ensure the familiarization with both scientific and technical matters in English for further understanding. Therefore, each text will be defined by a set of vocabulary concepts, a set of special sentences (idioms) and comprehension questions.

This course is intended for 1st year health and safety students. The objective of this lecture is to allow students to learn basic principles of algorithms and then they will be able to code with an advanced programming language.

This mathematics course is intended for first-year students.  The concepts covered in this course are fundamental and among the most used in the field of Science and Technology.
